Alexander Smith

Alexander Smith is a Senior Director at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan), leading a geo-strategic research program aimed at securing the financial future of Ontario’s healthcare workers. With previous roles including Senior Manager of Operational Threat Intelligence at CIBC and Manager of Threat Intelligence at Scotiabank, Alexander has extensive experience in monitoring and analyzing threats to organizational assets. Additionally, experience includes serving as Security and Political Risk Chair at Breithorn Group, a Research Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, and positions at the University of Waterloo. Alexander holds a Master of Arts in Political Science (International Relations and Security Studies) from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science specializing in International Relations from the University of Guelph.
