Mahinda Kumara has extensive experience in finance and accounting roles. Mahinda started their career in 2000 at Crystal Apparel, where they worked as an Accounts Cleark, Accounts Assistant, and Assistant Accountant. In 2004, they joined Honorway Textile Apparel Ltd as a Head of Finance Manager. Mahinda then returned to Crystal Apparel in 2009, where they served as a Finance Manager and later as an Internal Audit Manager until 2015. In 2016, Kumara worked at Pretty Group as a System Development & Internal Audit Manager.
