Michaela Cox

Michaela Cox has a diverse work experience in the fields of counseling and support services. Michaela currently holds the position of Director of Clinical Support Services at Hope Center for Children since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked at GENERATIONS GROUP HOMES, INC. from 2017 to 2021, where they served as the Interim Executive Director, Clinical Manager, Admissions/Authorizations Manager, and PRTF Therapist at different times. Michaela also worked as a Counseling Intern at McLeod Addictive Disease Center in 2017. In addition, they gained experience as a Technology Support Graduate Assistant at Winthrop University from 2016 to 2017 and as a Counseling Intern at New Hope Treatment Centers Inc in 2016. Their work history also includes the role of Academic Coach at Radford University Learning Assistance and Resource Center from 2013 to 2015.

Michaela Cox has a comprehensive education history that includes multiple degrees and certifications. Michaela obtained their Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University, where they attended from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, in 2015, they briefly studied Spanish Language and Literature at Estudio Sampere. Before their enrollment at Winthrop University, Michaela pursued a double major in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Criminal Justice at Radford University from 2012 to 2015. Michaela completed their high school education at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Michaela Cox has obtained several certifications. Michaela became a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider through Evergreen Certifications in February 2022. Michaela also holds the National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors, which they obtained in June 2019. Furthermore, they obtained a license as a Licensed Professional Counselor from the SC LLR in September 2021.
