Hope for Depression Research Foundation
Louisa Benton serves as the Executive Director of the Hope for Depression Research Foundation since July 2013, leading research initiatives, educational programming, marketing, and fundraising efforts for the organization focused on enhancing the understanding and treatment of major depression. Previous experience includes roles as Director of Development and Communications at Worldfund, where significant fundraising accomplishments were achieved to enhance K-12 education in Latin America, and Director of Endowment at the American Ballet Theatre, successfully overseeing a $30 million endowment campaign. Benton also held development leadership positions at Theatre for a New Audience and Ensemble Studio Theatre, and began a career in journalism and teaching. Benton holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in History and Science from Harvard University.
