Margot Barrera

Margot Barrera serves as an Opinion Analyst and Opinion Columnist for The Michigan Daily since February 2024 and writes for Hopelessly Yellow since September 2023. Prior experience includes a summer internship with Nick Schultz for Assembly 2024 and a leadership role as Vice President of Communications on the Marketing Team for ALPFA, Inc. Barrera gained additional experience as a Summer Camp Counselor at Rolling Hills Country Day School and previously worked as a Cashier at Rabano Handcrafted Food & Drinks. Academically, Barrera is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, complemented by a minor in Political Science from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and briefly studied at Sciences Po in France. Educational background also includes a High School Diploma from Notre Dame Academy Girls High School.
