Job Developer/Asset Building at Hopelink

Chad Close has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Chad started their career in 2004 as a Peace Corps Volunteer, where they developed community building projects focused on education, health, HIV/AIDS awareness, environmental stewardship, and civics. During this time, they also successfully maintained and managed grant-funded projects.

In 2007, Chad joined the University of Washington as an Outreach and Website Assistant. Chad provided program support for an international resource center, including developing outreach materials, performing website maintenance, and coordinating events. Chad also assisted with reporting and managing a Title VI program grant.

In 2009, Chad joined Hopelink as a Job Developer/Asset Building role. Here, they coordinated the Employment Services program and implemented strategies to enhance and expand services for low-income and homeless individuals. Chad provided intensive case management, led workshops, and played a significant role in expanding services and participant enrollment by 40%. Chad'sefforts ensured program success, continued funding, and the establishment of a permanent position.

Throughout their career, Chad has demonstrated a strong commitment to community development, grant management, program coordination, and resource center support.

Chad Close completed their Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Mount St. Mary's University, spanning from the year 2000 to 2004. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts Degree in International Studies from the University of Washington, attending from 2007 to 2009.

Hopelink

Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in King and Snohomish counties; providing stability and helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.Hopelink provides a network of critical social services through a number of different programs –including housing, transportation, family development, financial assistance, employment programs, adult education, financial literacy training and five food banks. The agency’s service centers, housing and transportation programs help more than 60,000 people every year.
