Kathy Desmond possesses extensive experience in leadership and program management within the nonprofit sector. As President of HopePHL since July 2013, Kathy has held multiple roles including Interim President & CEO and Chief Program Officer, and previously served as VP of Impact, Evaluations, and Programs. Prior to this position, Kathy consulted for Bethanna and Northeast Treatment Centers, and from February 1989 to January 2012, served as President/CEO of Best Nest, Inc. Kathy holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Temple University School of Social Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilkes University.

HopePHL (pronounced Hopeful) is a newly formed social service organization for families, youth, and young children, experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Philadelphia. HopePHL was formed from two separate, but well known, social service organizations, People’s Emergency Center (PEC), and Youth Service, Inc (YSI), with 150 years of combined service experience.
