Mark Shiffer

Mark Shiffer began their career as an intern at State Farm in 1998. Mark then worked as a programmer at Robinson Industries from 1997 to 1998. After that, they joined e-MDs as a Database Architect and Experienced Application Developer from 1999 to 2002. Mark later worked at Levi, Ray and Shoup as a Project Lead and Senior Application Developer from 2002 to 2010, where they contributed to the architecture and development of a new Service Oriented Architecture framework. From 2010 to 2013, Mark Shiffer worked as a Software Architect at Capitol Strategies, providing technical direction and business expertise to clients. Currently, they are working at Horace Mann, where they started as a Senior Enterprise Architect in 2013 and is currently an IT Director, leading multiple teams and driving innovation and efficiency in agent and customer-facing applications.

Mark Shiffer has a diverse education history. Mark obtained a Certified Financial Planner Education (CFP, not certified) degree in Finance and Financial Management Services from The American College of Financial Services in the years 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2005 to 2006. Mark also holds another MBA degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School, which they earned between 2003 and 2005. Mark'sundergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science (BS), was obtained from Grove City College in Computer Systems & Mathematics, which they completed during the years 1995 to 1999. Additionally, Mark Shiffer has obtained certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in 2021, TOGAF 9 Certification from The Open Group in 2014, and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer from Microsoft in 2004.
