Cynthia Shonaiya

Cindy Shonaiya is a Principal at Hord Coplan Macht and has 27 years of professional experience, spanning three continents. She serves as Market Sector Leader of HCM’s Senior Living practice and has been team leader on numerous Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Affordable Senior Housing projects including Brightview Evesham (NJ), Brightview Fairfax (VA), Brightview East Norriton (PA), and, Westminster Ridge, Harper House, Clare Court Apartments, Waverly Gardens and Brightview Rolling Hills, all in Maryland.

Additionally, she serves on the Maryland State Board of Architects and the American Institute of Architects Design for Aging Advisory Group, is a juror for several national design competitions, and is a regular speaker at national and regional industry conferences.

A product of Morgan State University’s graduate school of Architecture, Cindy’s passion is to motivate and encourage the next generation of architects. She heads HCM’s successful Student Internship Committee and intern shadow program.
