Horizon Discovery
Stephen Johnstone is an experienced scientist with a diverse background in cell biology and biochemical research. Currently serving as Scientist II at Horizon Discovery since October 2016, Stephen specializes in cell culture, high-throughput screening, and functional genomic screening using automation and CRISPR technology. Previous roles include Senior Scientist in Cell Biology at Syntaxin Ltd., where responsibilities encompassed assay development and mentoring; Investigator Scientist at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences, focusing on AMP-dependent protein kinase; and a series of postdoctoral research positions at prominent institutions including Imperial College London and the University of Edinburgh. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Neurotransmitter transport kinetics from Imperial College London and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh.
