Tom Kodel has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Technology Education & Film Production Teacher at Brevard Public Schools since October 2021 and as a K-8 Teacher at Horizons National since June 2018. Previous roles include Library Media Specialist at Norwalk Public Schools and long-term and short-term substitute teaching across various elementary schools in Connecticut. Tom began a career in education as a paraprofessional, supporting kindergarten and elementary students, and has also held roles as a summer camp counselor and certified tutor. Tom holds a Master's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Sacred Heart University and a Master's in Human Services: Executive Leadership from Liberty University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Religion: Biblical Studies from Liberty University.

Horizons National is a nonprofit that partners with public, independent, and charter schools, colleges, and universities to create out-of-school academic, enrichment, and social-emotional learning programs for students from pre-kindergarten through high school.
