Jat Thompson has been President at Horizon Performance since March 2003. Prior to that, they were a Research Fellow at the Army Research Institute from June 1999 to March 2003, where they worked as an applied Organizational Psychologist supporting the United States Army Special Forces. Some of their key projects included: Special Forces Officer Leadership Development; the development of an Army Special Operations Command Climate Survey; a Special Forces field performance study that involved the development of a questionnaire using factor analysis, subject matter expert interviews and two pilot studies. The final product was then distributed all over the world to every Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (A-team). Statistical analysis was performed on the returned forms and the results were packaged into a CD Rom deliverable, presented in a journal article, and presented to Speical Forces Leadership; and they also designed an Adaptability Exercise for SF Officers along with the development of a software solution for performance evaluation. From June 1996 to June 1999, they were a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young.
Jat Thompson has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from North Carolina State University, an MS in Psychology from North Carolina State University, and a B.S.A. in Accounting and a B.B.A. in Finance and Financial Management Services from the University of Kentucky. Jat Thompson is also certified from the Center for Creative Leadership in Benchmark 360.
