Terri Hinson-Silvis pursued their education chronologically, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Auburn University from 1983 to 1986. Following this, they attended Georgia State University from 1990 to 1993, where they earned a Master's degree in Urban Studies. Finally, Hinson-Silvis completed their education at Portland State University from 1994 to 2000, obtaining a Ph.D. in Urban Studies.
