Kai Yu

Kai Yu is the founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics. Prior to Horizon Robotics, Kai was a visiting faculty at Stanford University's CS department, where they taught Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. Kai has also served as President of the Nanjing University Alumni Association San Francisco Bay Area and as Department Head of Media Analytics at NEC Laboratories America. At NEC, they led the team to develop cutting-edge technologies on computer vision, machine learning, and data mining. Under their management, the team had made significant contributions and achieved funding growth by 800% within two consecutive years. Kai has also worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Siemens Corporate Technology and as a Summer Intern at Microsoft Research Asia.

Kai Yu received their PhD in Computer Science from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and their Bachelor and Master in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing University. Kai also attended Dale Carnegie Training and High School Affiliated to Jiangxi Normal University.
