Amy Anderson

Amy Anderson serves as the Executive Director of the Horizons program at the San Francisco Friends School since December 2022, focusing on providing academic services and enrichment to youth in the Mission District. Previously, as Program Director at ThinkGive from June 2022 to November 2022, Amy led a team to implement SEL curriculum in over 80 schools, promoting inclusivity. Amy's extensive experience at SEO Scholars San Francisco includes roles such as Senior Program Manager, Curriculum Designer, and various Program Manager positions, where Amy developed programming and data management systems to support underserved students in their academic journeys. Additional experience includes teaching roles at Brisbane School District and Leadership Public Schools, along with significant educational contributions at Langley Academy and Coastside Child Development Center. Amy holds a Master's degree in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with honors from Clark University.

Horizons at San Francisco Friends School

Horizons at SFFS provides joyful academic and enrichment experiences that build on the talents and skills of San Francisco’s public school students. Horizons' work is centered around a transformational summer program for public school students, most of whom live in the Mission and Excelsior Districts. The organization also provides year-round academic and enrichment support for all 153 curious, creative public school students in the program. Horizons works to advance educational equity, where community relationships foster students’ skills, confidence, curiosity, and capacity to thrive in school and beyond.
