Barbara van Amelsfort

Barbara van Amelsfort currently serves as Hoofd Marketing, Communicatie en Educatie at Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam, a position held since December 2005. In this role, Barbara oversees the marketing, communication, education, and programming teams, focusing on promoting the Hortus as an educational platform. Additionally, Barbara leads the campaign and communication efforts for the Drieklimatenkas project, set to open in 2025 as the first gas-free public greenhouse in the Netherlands. Barbara also holds the position of Communications Officer with Amsterdam Capitals and serves as Voorzitter of MOAM Amsterdam. Previous experience includes various roles at KIT Royal Tropical Institute and Kunstenaars&CO. Barbara's educational background includes a Master's degree in Business Communications from Radboud University and various certifications in coaching and conflict resolution.
