Aaron (AJ) Jay has a diverse work experience in the horticultural and real estate industries. Aaron (AJ) is the Managing Director of Hortus Ltd, where they oversee various services such as vineyard management and labor supply. AJ also serves as a Board Member for NZ Ethical Employers and an Advisory Board Member for Wallace & Stratton, where they focus on improving ethical employment practices and enhancing marketing strategies. In addition, AJ is the Director/Founder of Tātou, a company that assists horticultural employers in managing their workforce through innovative technology solutions. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Vineyard Manager at Ants Nest Management and as an Assistant Vineyard Manager at Hunter's Wines.

Aaron (AJ) Jay attended Angmering High School from 1991 to 1996. Afterward, they pursued a Horticulture advanced program at NZQA from 2005 to 2006. Later on, in 2012 and 2013, they attended the Ice House - The University of Auckland Business School without specifying a degree or field of study.
