Matthew Jenkins has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Matthew began their career in 1997 at Carolina Medical Consultants as an Internal Medicine Physician and also worked briefly as a PHYSICIAN. In 2007, they became an Aviation Medical Examiner / HIMS AME. From 2018 to 2021, they held multiple roles at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, including Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Preceptor. In 2018, they also started working as a Hospice Physician- GIP care at Agape Care Group until 2021. In 2020, they joined Lincoln Financial Group as an Independent Medical Consultant. Most recently, they became the Medical Director at Hospice & Community Care in 2021.
Matthew Jenkins attended the State University of New York at Plattsburgh for an unspecified period of time, but did not complete a degree or field of study. From 1990 to 1994, they pursued a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) in Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After completing their medical degree, Jenkins enrolled in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, with the exact dates unknown.
In addition to their formal education, Jenkins obtained certifications relevant to their field of medicine. In 2014, they became a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. In January 2013, they obtained a HIMS Aviation Medical Examiner certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. Jenkins also achieved a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner certification, although the month and year of obtaining it are unknown.

Hospice & Community Care's mission to provide hospice services and give hope, comfort, and compassion to our community when needed most. Our interdisciplinary team includes board-certified physicians, hospice-trained registered nurses, and certified nursing assistants, licensed social workers, bereavement counselors, and spiritual care leaders. The team focuses on quality at end of life by addressing the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones. We have a 16-bed inpatient hospice house and also serve patients where they live; whether in their own homes, a nursing home, assisted living, or other facility.
