Greg Phelps

Gregory Phelps MD is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in palliative care and hospice services. Currently serving as the Medical Director of Covenant Health Palliative Care since January 2021 and as the Medical Director for UT Hospice since November 2010, Gregory provides oversight and leadership in clinical care and education for healthcare professionals in a broad service area. Additionally, Gregory has held the role of Chief Medical Officer at Hospice of Chattanooga since June 2001 and previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Health Partners from January 2000 to June 2008, focusing on medical staff services and quality. Gregory's background includes a focus on pain and palliative care at the Anesthesia Medical Alliance of East Tennessee and an educational foundation in medicine, public health, and health care mission from esteemed institutions including the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
