Heidi Farber has a diverse work history spanning several industries. Heidi began their career in 1990 as a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where they worked as a Communications Specialist and Project Manager until 1995. From 2002 to 2010, they served as the Executive Director of the Maine Higher Education Council. In 2008-2009, Heidi was the Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council, Maine Chapter. Heidi also worked as a Consultant for the Maine Higher Education Partnership from 2003 to 2007. Heidi joined ITNPortland as the Interim Executive Director for a short period in 2010 with a prior role as the Manager of the Affiliate Support Department from 2010 to 2013 at ITNAmerica. Heidi then transitioned to the role of Development Director at ITNAmerica until 2015. Heidi's most recent position is as the Director of Development and Marketing at Hospice of Southern Maine, which they have held since 2018. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the development and marketing strategies of the organization.

Heidi Farber obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Hanover College, where they attended from 1981 to 1985. Heidi later pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of West Florida, completing their studies between 1988 and 1990.
