Victor Lopez

Victor Lopez, Jr. D.O. is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in sports medicine, particularly in rugby injury prevention and research. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Rugby Research & Injury Prevention Group Inc., established in 2010, Victor is dedicated to enhancing player safety through evidence-based research. Current roles include serving as Clinical Research Associate at Auckland University of Technology and Clinical Affiliated Investigator at the Hospital for Special Surgery, where responsibilities encompass evaluating sports performance and collaborating on data collection efforts. Previous positions include Director of Medical Services for the Northeast National Development Rugby Academy and Injury Prevention Manager for USA Rugby, along with various medical roles in the Metropolitan New York Rugby Football Union and NYC Village Lions RFC. Victor holds a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Philosophy in Sports Injury Prevention from Auckland University of Technology.
