Catalina Ulloa has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and research industry. They have worked as the Director of the Research Unit at the Hospital Metropolitano de Costa Rica since 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Director of the Ethics Committee/Institutional Review Board (CEC-UCIMED) at the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas (UCIMED) from 2013 to 2019. They have also held roles as a Clinical Study Project Manager, Regulatory Affairs Coordinator, and Clinical Coordinator at UCIMED. Additionally, Catalina has worked as a Regulatory Affairs Coordinator at the Instituto de Atencion Pediatrica and as a Co-investigator at the Tecnológico de Costa Rica. They have also gained experience as a Fellow (MSc. Student) at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas and as a Clinical Study Coordinator at Servicios Medicos Medicare.
Catalina Ulloa pursued a master's degree in Biomedical Research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2007 to 2008. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2004, they attended Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica where they studied Biotechnology.
