Jose Carlos Salas Serantes has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Jose Carlos started their career at Hospital Provincial MAD Camagüey in Cuba in 1989, where they worked in both internal medicine and intensive care. After that, they joined Hospital Naval Luis Díaz Soto and specialized in intensive care from 1996 to 1998. In 1999, they joined Centro Medico Quirúrgico La Castellana as an internist and intensivist, where they stayed until 2007. Currently, they are working at Hospiten as a medical director and has been with the company since 2010. Throughout their career, Jose Carlos Salas Serantes has gained extensive experience in critical care and internal medicine.
Jose Carlos Salas Serantes received their Doctor en Medicina degree from ISCM Carlos J Finlay in 1989. Jose Carlos then pursued an Especialidad in Medicina Interna at Hospital Provincial Docente "Manuel Ascunce" in Camagüey, Cuba, which they completed in 1992. Following this, Jose Carlos Salas Serantes pursued a Postgrado in Medicina Intensiva from the same institution, which they completed in 1995.
