Kelli Francis-Staite

Kelli Francis-Staite has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2010, Kelli worked as a Swimming Instructor at Stateswim Morphett Road, where they developed swimming programs, coached swimmers, and provided customer service. In 2011, they began working as a Mathematics Tutor and Mathematics Learning Centre Tutor at the University of Adelaide, assisting first and second-year university students with their mathematical coursework. Kelli also held the position of Mathematics Tutorial Assistant at the University of Oxford, where they marked assignments, worked with course tutors, and demonstrated problem-solving to students. Kelli then became a Non-stipendary Lecturer in Statistics and Mathematics at The Queen's College, Oxford, organizing and delivering tutorials for first and second-year students.

In 2015, Kelli started their career in the finance industry, working as an Investment Analyst at Statewide Super and later transitioning to the role of Quantitative Investment Manager. Kelli'sresponsibilities included data science, investment management, analytics, and risk reporting. Kelli also conducted research on members' behavior and managed the currency hedging program. During this time, they concurrently worked as a Mathematics Tutorial Assistant at the University of Oxford.

In 2020, Kelli began their roles at the University of Adelaide, serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher working on a Machine Learning project involving Hidden Markov Models, Markov Decision Processes, Convex Optimization, and Reinforcement Learning. Kelli also held an Adjunct Senior Lecturer role, finalizing publications of their research undertaken during their post-doctoral research appointment.

Most recently, Kelli joined Hostplus in 2022 as the Head of Investment Strategy, where they lead the investment strategy initiatives.

Prior to that, they earned a Master of Philosophy in Pure Mathematics from the University of Adelaide in 2015 and a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, also from the University of Adelaide, in 2012. In terms of additional specialized education, they attended the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment - University of Oxford for a one-week course on Sustainable Finance in 2019, and obtained a certificate in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School Online in 2021. Furthermore, they completed a program titled "Executing Strategy for Results" at the London Business School in 2022. In terms of certifications, Kelli obtained a certification in Economics of Money and Banking from Coursera in 2021.
