María Bilbao Machimbarrena has held various roles in their professional career. From 2022 to present, they have been the CMO at Hotelverse. From 2015 to present, they have been the Head Of Marketing Intrastay - MKT EMEA at Iberostar, where they were responsible for product positioning, implementation of new architecture and brand identity, and the preparation of contents for the promotion of hotels. From 2014 to 2015, they were the Dior Distribution Manager Iberia at Safilo, where they developed and implemented the distribution plan and created and developed commercial tools, marketing, and education. From 2007 to 2010, they were the Responsable de Marca and Jefe de Producto Senior Kérastase & Kéraskin at L'Oréal Spain, where they coordinated the Marketing, Commercial, and Education departments, developed and implemented the marketing plan, and analyzed the market to detect business opportunities. From 2006 to 2007, they were the Responsable de la Cartera de Impagados at DHL. From 2005 to 2006, they were responsible for designing a Strategic Plan in collaboration with the University at P4Q Electronics, SL, where they conducted an internal and external analysis of the company and identified strategic alternatives.

María Bilbao Machimbarrena completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from LUISS Business School in 2006, with a field of study in Dirección Estratégica. María then completed a Rethinking Customer Experience Program from JSF Travel & Tourism Business School in 2018. In the same year, they also completed a Leadership and Communication in a Changing Environment Seminar from Les Roches Marbella Global Hospitality. In 2020, they completed a Programa ThePowerDigitalMarketing from ThePower Business School and a ISDI Play from ISDI. Currently, they are pursuing an MBA - Hospitality & Tourism Management from Ostelea, Tourism Management School.
