Mike Bates

Mike Bates is the founder and CEO of HotWax Systems. Mike has over 20 years of experience in the software industry. Prior to founding HotWax Systems, Mike was an adjunct professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and the manager of web services at the institute.

Mike has a passion for software and believes that it can change the world. Mike is a strong advocate for open source software and has been involved in the Apache Software Foundation since its inception. Mike is also a member of the Apache Software Foundation's Project Management Committee.

Mike has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Stanford University.

Mike Bates holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from the same school.
