Charlie Blakeley has a diverse work experience in the construction industry. Charlie started their career as a cabinetmaker and bench carpenter at Tidewater Architectural Millwork in 2014. In 2016, they worked as a finish carpenter at J.M. Sykes, Inc., where they honed their carpentry skills and gained experience in various construction techniques.
In 2017, Charlie joined Jackson Andrews Building + Design as a construction project manager and superintendent, overseeing high-end custom home renovations. Charlie was responsible for trade partner coordination, material procurement, city inspections, schedule management, and new hire training.
From 2019 to 2022, Charlie worked at Lawson as both an assistant construction project manager and a construction project manager. In these roles, they demonstrated strong leadership and multi-tasking skills, handling project team leadership, subcontract authoring and negotiation, plan review and design coordination, cost management, schedule creation and management, permit acquisition, change order management, financial tracking, and project closeout and turnover. Their projects ranged in size from $10M to $36M.
Most recently, Charlie joined Hourigan in 2022 as a construction project manager, continuing to apply their expertise in managing large-scale construction projects.
Charlie Blakeley completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomaterials Science with a focus on Residential Structures and a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they enrolled in Business Management at The University of Georgia from 2010 to 2011. Charlie's earlier education took place at Norfolk Academy from 1998 to 2010, but no degree or field of study was specified during this time.
