John Burt

John Burt has a diverse work experience. John started their career as a Warranty Claims Intern at Caterpillar Inc., where they digitized legacy files and coordinated data entry for warranty and work ordered files. After that, they worked as a Systems Engineer Intern at Raytheon, where they gained experience in reliability engineering and worked on the GPS OCX program.

Following this, they joined Virginia Tech Dining Services as a Manager, overseeing the preparation of 8000+ meals a day. John then moved on to Aspire Public Schools, where they worked as a Financial Program Assistant and later as a Financial Analyst. At Aspire Public Schools, they managed the Nutrition Program, streamlined operations, and conducted state and federal reporting for over 14,000 students.

Currently, John is working at HouseCanary as a Software Technical Lead. John has also held roles as a Software Engineer and Junior Software Engineer at the company. Overall, John has a strong background in software engineering, finance, and operations management.

John Burt obtained their Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech between 2011 and 2016.
