Toshiyasu Otsuka

Toshiyasu Otsuka is an experienced visual effects artist with a comprehensive background in various animation and film studios. Currently serving as an Effect TD at HouseSpecial since December 2014, Toshiyasu also works freelance as an FX Supervisor for an unannounced feature film produced in Japan. Previous roles include Effect Animator at LAIKA, LLC, where Toshiyasu was a lead FX Artist for a 3D CG short, and FX Artist at Mix, focusing on Houdini FX work for a CG short. From August 2007 to April 2013, Toshiyasu worked at DreamWorks Animation, designing and creating effects using various tools, and prior to that, served as a Generalist/FX TD at Giant Killer Robots, specializing in particle and fluid effects. Toshiyasu holds a BFA in 3D Art from the Academy of Art University and an Associate's degree in Multimedia from Orange Coast College.
