Housing Action Illinois
Willie Heineke currently serves as the National Service Director at Housing Action Illinois, where responsibilities include overseeing the growth of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, now comprising 34 AmeriCorps VISTA members across seven states. Previous roles at Housing Action Illinois include National Service Program Manager, Outreach Coordinator, and Outreach Associate, along with experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader. Willie's commitment to service began with a term as Culinary Program Manager for U.S. VETS and a VISTA Summer Associate focusing on food security at Prescott Farmers Market. Willie's leadership also extends to co-founding the Rainforest Rescue Coalition, which engaged in fundraising for rainforest conservation projects. Willie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural and Regional Studies with a concentration in Justice Studies from Prescott College.

Housing Action Illinois is a statewide coalition working to make sure everyone in Illinois has a safe, affordable place to call home. Our members include housing counseling agencies, homeless service providers, developers of affordable housing and policymakers. These organizations serve low- and moderate-income households, helping to provide a place to call home, thereby strengthening the community at large.
