Housing Ombudsman
Catherine Courtney is a Compliance and Systemic Lead at Housing Ombudsman, currently holding this position since December 2022. Prior to this role, Catherine served as Principal Housing Options Manager at BCP Council from April 2019 to December 2022. With a diverse background in housing and project management, Catherine has also held positions such as Housing Options Manager at Borough of Poole and Contracts Officer at Siemens. Catherine has obtained a Level 4 Certificate for the Housing Profession from the Chartered Institute of Housing and a Diploma in Financial Planning and Services from LIBF. Catherine's educational journey began at Parkstone Grammar School from 1989 to 1995.
Housing Ombudsman
Our role is to resolve disputes involving members of the Housing Ombudsman Scheme and support effective landlord-tenant dispute resolution by others. Members of the scheme include housing associations and local authority landlords plus some private landlords who are voluntary members. Our service is independent and impartial. Our vision is Housing Matters: Fairness Matters which recognises the importance of housing to people’s lives. We ensure the fair and impartial resolution of housing complaints, locally where possible. When things go wrong we put things rights and encourage learning from outcomes.
