Sara Shortt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in advocacy, community organizing, and tenant rights. Currently serving as the Director of Counseling Programs at the Housing Rights Committee Of San Francisco, Sara leads initiatives to support renters across various housing types in multiple languages. Previously, as a Policy Consultant for the Drug Policy Alliance, Sara coordinated the SF Community Health Now! Coalition, focusing on harm reduction and public health strategies. As Campaign Coordinator for the No on F: Reduce SF Homelessness Campaign, Sara opposed harmful legislation affecting vulnerable populations. Sara's background also includes significant roles such as Director of Policy and Community Organizing at HomeRise and Director of a homeless outreach program in Skid Row. With a Master's in Social Work from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's degree from Lewis & Clark College, Sara is dedicated to advocating for policies that empower marginalized communities.
