Neil Shah

Neil Shah has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Neil currently works at HousingAnywhere as an Engineering Manager in the Data Science & Engineering department. Prior to this, they also held the same position at Slack. At Slack, Neil was responsible for managing the overall health and operations of the Data Infrastructure for the Biztech team. Neil implemented various automation measures, such as automating Looker user expiry and creating automated DEV environment infrastructure, resulting in cost savings and a reduction in the overall development life cycle.

Before Slack, Neil worked as a Senior Data Engineer at MoneySmart Group. Neil'smain contributions included leading the successful migration of the Data Warehouse, event capture pipeline, and ETL processes, resulting in a significant cost reduction. Neil also implemented an event dictionary for consistent analysis across different products and mentored two Data Engineers. Neil also created an ELT pipeline for measuring cost and revenue, providing executives with better visibility and enabling critical business decisions.

Prior to MoneySmart Group, Neil was a Data Scientist at MatchMove Pay Pte. Ltd., where they led the Data Science Initiative by building Data Infrastructure. Neil created visibility across the company for critical KPIs and automated the daily financial reconciliation process, improving issue resolution and financial reporting.

Neil's earlier experiences include working as an ETL/Data Engineer at PropertyGuru Pte. Ltd., where they implemented end-to-end pipelines and developed marketing automation campaigns. Neil also integrated the Data Warehouse with self-serviced Business Intelligence tools and maintained the organization's analytics infrastructure.

Neil started their career as a Project Intern at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research and later worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore, where they conducted data analysis for a research project on innovation factors.

In addition, Neil has experience as a QA Engineer at Synaptic Digital, where they were responsible for quality assurance activities for various products and explored automated testing methods. Neil also worked as a Test Engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd. and as a Graduate Engineer Trainee at Guj Info Petro Ltd.

Neil Shah completed their education with a master's degree in Software Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2014. Prior to that, they earned a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the Charotar Institute of Technlogy between 2005 and 2009. Neil'ssecondary education took place at Divine Buds English School from 1995 to 2005, where they obtained the H.S.C degree in Science. In addition to their formal education, Neil Shah has also obtained certifications such as the edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Big Data with Apache Spark from edX in July 2015 and the Oracle Certified Associate for 10g Database.
