Margaret Cook is a seasoned professional in the fields of water resources, climate equity, and environmental engineering. Currently serving as the Deputy Director for Climate Equity & Resilience at the Houston Advanced Research Center since November 2020, Margaret has previously held positions as a Water Engineer at Apache Corporation and as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, where research focused on the intersection of energy, water, and policy. Experience includes internships and roles that involved analyzing the water-energy nexus and evaluating water use and policy barriers related to hydraulic fracturing. Margaret holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering, dual Master's degrees in Environmental Engineering and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, all from The University of Texas at Austin.
