Karen L. Schmidt has been working in the field of education for over 20 years. Karen started their career as a teacher before moving into administration. In 2007, they became the EVP/Chief Development and Marketing Officer for the Presbyterian Mission Agency, where they oversaw all aspects of fundraising and marketing for the agency. In this role, they were responsible for doubling the agency's fundraising revenues by 2020.
In 2013, Karen became the Executive Director for the Foundation at Houston Community College. In this role, they are responsible for leading the advancement program, alumni relations, and securing private resources for the benefit of the college and its students. Under their leadership, the Foundation has seen significant growth in both funding and donor base.
Karen L. Schmidt has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Colorado State University in Business Administration and Management, General. Karen also has a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting and Business/Management from Colorado State University. Karen is certified from CFRE International as a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
