John Fleming is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in various roles within the Houston Health Department and other organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Analyst at the Houston Health Department since July 2023, John previously held the position of Public Health Preparedness Bureau Chief from March 2017 to August 2023. John's background includes significant contributions as a Senior Planner for the City of Houston, managing regional health responses during Hurricane Ike and the H1N1 pandemic as the Manager IV for Public Health Preparedness at the State of Texas. Additionally, John has experience in education as a teacher and has worked in various capacities related to environmental health and food safety inspections. John holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Disaster & Emergency Management from Sam Houston State University, along with a Secondary School Teacher Certification and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the University of Guelph.
