Marcea C. Lewis, MPH, currently serves as an Environmental Investigator II at the Houston Health Department since April 2023. In addition to this role, Marcea co-founded Southside Market, where development of a community nutrition curriculum is underway to enhance local engagement through events and food demonstrations. Previous experiences include a certification training program at Texas Southern University, graduate studies in Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and various roles in educational support and community-oriented positions, including serving as a Shield Tester for COVID-19 testing and a Kitchen Farming Instructor at Urban Growers Collective. Marcea holds a Master of Public Health degree focused on Community Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spelman College.
