Melissa Phagan

VP, Chief of Staff at Houston Healthcare

Mrs. Phagan joined Houston Healthcare in 2003 after completing her bachelor’s degree at Mercer University. She has served in several roles including as a Patient Representative in the Emergency Department, Assistant to the Administrator at Houston Medical Center, and Executive Assistant to the CEO and Director of Volunteer Services. Mrs. Phagan received her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governor’s University in 2017.

As Chief of Staff, Mrs. Phagan is responsible for the smooth operation of the Executive staff in execution of the organization’s strategic vision. She manages administrative operations and keeps the CEO briefed on current issues. Mrs. Phagan also provides leadership to the Hospital Volunteer Program and the Service Excellence Department, as well as directs staff in support of all System and Hospital Board activities.

Mrs. Phagan has been a Rotary Club member and also served on their Board of Directors. During her service to Rotary, she received the President’s Award from the Rotary Club of Centerville in 2013. In 2014, she received the Director of Volunteer Service of the Year Award through the Georgia Hospital Association. Mrs. Phagan currently serves on the Board of the Georgia Society of Director of Volunteer Services of the Georgia Hospital Association. Melissa is a proud native of Warner Robins and a graduate of Northside High School.
