Crystal Groenenstein is an experienced social worker with a diverse background in various social services roles. Currently serving as an LMSW Field Social Worker at Houston Hospice since July 2022, Crystal Groenenstein focuses on assessing the psychosocial needs of patients and families, providing counseling to both patients and bereaved individuals. Previous experience includes working as a Case Management Specialist at The Salvation Army, where Crystal Groenenstein conducted client intakes and assessed income eligibility for programs. Additionally, as a Housing Choice Voucher Specialist at Texas City Housing Authority, responsibilities included interviewing clients for program eligibility. Crystal Groenenstein also completed an internship as a Clinical Social Work Intern at The Children's Center, where family assessments were conducted for foster care placements. Earlier work experience involved roles as a Macro Social Work Intern and in customer service. Academic qualifications include a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from Kaplan University.

Houston Hospice is Greater Houston's oldest, largest, independent, nonprofit hospice. Houston Hospice is an in-network provider for most insurance companies and is licensed by Medicare and Medicaid. Houston Hospice is a member of the Texas Medical Center, Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance and the Texas New Mexico Hospice Organization. Houston Hospice is accredited by the National Institute for Jewish Hospice and by Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc (CHAP). CHAP accreditation publicly certifies that an organization has voluntarily met the highest standards of excellence for home and/or community-based health care.
