Alexandra Hales Elizondo is a seasoned education and nonprofit executive currently serving as the Chief of Public Affairs and Communications for Houston ISD. Previously, they were the founding CEO of Good Reason Houston, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing public education by increasing the number of high-quality schools in Houston. Alex began their career as a 1st-grade teacher and was recognized as District Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2009. They also held leadership roles at Teach For America, including Executive Director for the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and pursued a Master of Science in Business Administration from Stanford University. Alex is known for tackling complex issues in public education with innovative, action-oriented solutions.
