Najah Callander

Najah Callander, J.D., currently serves as the Senior Executive Director of External Engagement at Houston ISD, having previously held the roles of Executive Director of Family and Community Engagement and Director of Community Relations within the organization since November 2019. Prior to Houston ISD, Najah was District Executive Director and Community Development Executive Director at YMCA of Greater Houston from July 2017 to November 2019. Najah's experience also includes a significant tenure at United Way of Greater Houston from June 2006 to July 2017, where responsibilities included establishing and leading the Education Initiative, managing human capital, and fostering community relationships. Najah holds a Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Managerial Economics from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
