Opeyemi Akanbi

Opeyemi Akanbi has a diverse background in education and psychology. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Teacher/Program Coordinator for the Community Outreach, Development, and Achievement (CODA Program). In 2008, they also served as a Summer Program Academic Advisor for Philadelphia Freedom Schools. From 2010 to 2012, Akanbi worked as a Guest Teacher for Charter School Services, LLC. In 2012, they held the position of Practicum Student at the School District of Philadelphia, before becoming a School Psychologist Intern at Interboro School District from 2012 to 2013. They then joined CORA Services as a School Psychologist from 2013 to 2014. Akanbi's most recent experience was with Houston ISD from 2014 to the present, where they have held various roles including School Psychologist, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology - Team Lead, and currently, School Psychologist Team Lead / Special Education Program Specialist.

Opeyemi Akanbi has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in School Psychology from Eastern University, which was obtained between 2010 and 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology from Wilberforce University from 2000 to 2004. In addition, Opeyemi Akanbi holds certifications such as Licensed Specialist in School Psychology from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Level I Certification for School Psychologist K-12 from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
