John Cooke is the Chief Translational Sciences Officer at Houston Methodist and serves as the Medical Director of the Center for RNA Therapeutics while chairing the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences. With 30 years of experience in vascular medicine and stem cell biology, Cooke's laboratory has focused on endothelial regeneration and angiogenesis, discovering key pathways and phenomena such as "transflammation." Previously, Cooke held positions at Harvard Medical School and Stanford University School of Medicine, where they contributed significantly to cardiovascular research and education. They also founded Cooke Pharma between 1996 and 2000 and earned an MD-PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine and Physiology from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine.
