Kentara John

Kentara John has extensive experience in program management and community development, currently serving as Program Manager for the Corporate team at Houston Methodist since July 2023. Responsibilities include oversight of the Houston Methodist Community Grants Program Portfolio, which focuses on various health care grants. Previously, as a Program Officer at Brooklyn Community Foundation, Kentara led community programs and managed grant portfolios while fostering relationships with local residents and partners. Experience as a Philanthropy Advisor at The Prism Fund involved partnering with donors to support K-5 education initiatives in Brooklyn. Kentara also served as Program Director at Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, focusing on workforce training and student recruitment, and held several instructional roles aimed at adult and youth education. Kentara holds a Master of Public Administration from LIU Brooklyn and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Queens College.
