John Guess is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leadership, consulting, and the arts. As the CEO of the Houston Museum of African American Culture since June 2009, John has successfully spearheaded a $10 million turnaround project, securing a prominent building and enhancing programming with notable figures such as Poet Laureate Rita Dove and Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson. In addition, John serves as Vice President and Senior Consultant for ACCESS Seminars and Consulting Services, providing over 30 years of management consulting expertise. Furthermore, as Managing Consultant for The Guess Group, Inc., John focuses on improving organizational effectiveness and long-term competitive advantage for clients. Previously, John was the Managing Director at Just Right Entertainment, where film productions received accolades. John holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in History from The Johns Hopkins University.
