Katie Watkins is an experienced environmental journalist currently serving as an Environmental Reporter for Houston Public Media since October 2018, where responsibilities include pitching, reporting, and producing stories on environmental issues for radio and web, as well as contributing to statewide and national outlets. Prior to their role at Houston Public Media, Katie held positions such as Digital News Producer and Freelance Writer for various publications, including National Geographic and Afar. Additional experience includes roles as a Resident Journalist for Monocle, Reporter for Medill News Service, and Editor of Social Media and Editorial Content for ArchDaily. Education credentials include a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Public Service from the University of Pennsylvania.
