Carlos J. Lopez has extensive experience in leadership and community service, currently serving as the President and Executive Director of the Mexican Institute of Greater Houston since June 2007, where Carlos J. has educated nearly 18,000 adults in Basic Computer Literacy, predominantly women. Lopez has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Houston Symphony since November 2013 and contributed to the Houston District Export Council from 1995 until June 2012, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Additionally, Lopez served on the Board of Directors and coordinated the International Committee for the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce from 2002 to 2010, having been a member since 1994. Earlier, Lopez directed the University of Houston - International Trade Center from April 1992 to May 2007, assisting small to mid-sized businesses with export activities and financing. Lopez holds an MBA in Development Banking and Finance from INCAE in Nicaragua, founded and sponsored by Harvard Business School.
