Rafiu Ighile

Rafiu Ighile, CPA, currently serves as the Director of Finance for the Howard County Government since September 2020. Prior experience includes roles such as Executive Board Member for the Government Finance Officers Association from May 2020 to May 2023 and Director of Finance and Administration for the City of Gaithersburg from July 2019 to September 2020. Previously, Rafiu held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the Howard County Public School System and served in various capacities including Deputy Director and Bureau Chief at the Howard County Government between 2007 and 2017. Additional experience includes roles as Program Controller for the American Trucking Association, Controller at the Lt. J.P. Kennedy Institute, and Project Accountant at Shell PDC in Nigeria. Rafiu holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a B.Sc in Economics from Bendel State University.
