Anna de Cheke Qualls

Anna De Cheke Qualls serves as the Senior Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives at Howard University since July 2021, and also works as a consultant for Graduate and Doctoral Education at the University of Maryland. Previously, Anna held the role of Director of External and Alumni Relations at the University of Maryland from August 2013 to July 2021, where responsibilities included advising on graduate student experiences and institutional practices. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs and Admissions at Johns Hopkins University and working in various roles at the Center for Talented Youth and Oakwood Friends School. Anna holds an M.A. in Science Education from Columbia University and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
