Francis Smith has a diverse work experience that spans over several companies and industries. Starting in 2011, they had a summer internship as a webmaster at the Sierra Club. In 2013, they interned at Healthy Buildings before moving on to a fellowship at the VA Advanced Energy Industries Coalition in 2014. During the same year, Francis also worked as a project engineer at Whiting Turner Contracting Company, where they managed a laboratory renovation project. In 2015, they became the co-founder of Diamondback Brewing Co. and later held the role of Director of Finance and Strategy. In 2020, they joined BlueTree Allied Angels, specializing in due diligence. In 2021, Francis worked briefly as a strategic planner at Emerson before becoming the President of George J. Howe Company in 2022.
Francis Smith completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, focusing on the field of Mechanical Engineering.
